Not sure why this would be a source of frustration, unless your
ego is caught up in the idea of there being some difference that
you cannot find support for!

I double checked what Keith Ream said - I called APC. Sure
enough, the folks who make and sell the devices say there is no
difference. They did not even use the qualifiers I have of
saying in the context of desktop computers. "No difference" -
an exact quote from the person I talked to at APC.

Ah, here comes the Calvary. Prepare for Steve Carroll and Tim Adams
and Wally and Sandman and Steve Mackay and Alan Baker to all jump up
and down and spew the same accusations.

And they will all lie... just as they lied about me forging PDFs...
the very PDFs that proved Sandman lied about his CSS.

Forging PDF's? What PDF's?

Another never ending debate:

A while back I noted that Sandman's site (http://sandman.net) had
pretty poor code; both its HTML and CSS failed to validate, it made
poor use of white space, etc.

Sandman outright lied and claimed his CSS *did* validate correctly...
so I went to the Waybackmachine and looked at the archived copies of
his site to prove him to be lying. I used FileMaker Pro to put
together a PDF of the results:

And yet, even though all the data from those PDFs is fully verifiable
and proves Sandman to be lying about his CSS, he accused me of
forging the PDF that proves he lied about his CSS. If that was not
bad enough Steve Carroll and Tim Adams and Wally and Steve Mackay and
Alan Baker all joined in to claim the PDF was forged. I even
provided them with *all* links needed to verify the data and offered
to share an unlocked copy of the FM Pro file I used to prove Sandman
was lying.

The counter was that since I used FM Pro to make the PDF that somehow
makes it "forged" - I did not do a hand-print-to-PDF for each page!
Then the claim became that there was references to programs other
than FM Pro in the PDF... so I made a movie which showed how I made
the PDF and it showed other programs being listed in the PDF meta
data.

In the end most of the group wised up and claimed to KF me. :)

You do a lot of work for these debates. Are they really that important to
you?
