Of course not; its reminiscent of the guys one meets who believed that his 7.62mm M60 machine gun could penetrate a foot of T72 tank armor. They're the same kind of Rocket Scientists who haven't heard of Vista sometime in the past 6 years and are supposedly writing ... Beta ... software for ... XP. Yup, they're following the Windows mantra that if you don't succeed in the first ten years, keep banging your head against the wall :-)

Mind you, there are operating systems which can maintain state and pick up right where they left off even after an unexpected power outage, and which extend this protection to all running processes automatically.

In research labs.

The notion that this could be retrofitted onto Windows is pure nonsense.


We had a computer that had internal batteries which would save
state and restart to the same state during power outages...lots of
truly fault-tolerant computers did this..not in labs but common in the
telco industry. But in a PC class machine running Windows....not likely.
