PM:

One: you had no idea how common the behavior in question is [apps closing
when the last window is closed].

Snit is whining about how there is no visual indication for something that
will be immediately clear to the user after having done it *once*. Notably,
there is no visual indicator for anything else in the way of OSX window
widgets for the new user as to exactly what will happen.

Two: now that you have been told how common it is you keep confusing the
idea of an indicator to tell you the program will *quit* vs. the dialog
giving you the option to save a file. You simply are lost.

Snit focuses on personalities when his argument is rejected:

"Are you getting pissed because I disagree with? If so that shows a
weakness in your character".

Three: in reaction to those two indisputable facts you repeatedly lie
about
me, spew accusations, and try to change the topic.

Oh, and their are many ways to alert a user of something other than a
dialog box.

Face it, Steve, you have - again - shoved your foot deep down your throat.

Snit doesn't know that "An alert is a dialog":

"There is no alert that pops up to tell you the program will quit... there
is an dialog to give you a chance to save your document if needed".

I returned what you snipped - and it is perfectly clear you do not believe
the BS you are spewing... if you did you would not snip as you do.

Again, my point is an easy one: before you press the red button on the last
window of an OS X program there is no GUI indication as to if the program
will quit or not. I think it would be better if there was some indication
to better build predictability.

Feel free to disagree, but when you show you are a coward by snipping, as
you do above, and then openly lie about me, also as you do above, you simply
make a (bigger) fool of yourself.

I mean, look at your BS:

Snit doesn't know that "An alert is a dialog"

What the heck are you babbling about? Do you even know? An alert need not
be a dialog...

"...need not be..." But in the context of the current discussion .....is!

In the current context the alert would *never* be a dialog. A dialog does
not offer info on what will happen *if* you press a button.

A dialog box stating something to the effect ....

"Replace files with the same name?" which offered a choice of buttons either
'ok' or "cancel" is indeed offering info as to what will happen *if* a
particular button is pressed!

Clearly in such a case the user is being alerted as to the fact that a file
with the same name already exists in that location, and the dialog box
allows the user to determine what will happen as a result of that fact by
offering a choice of buttons to press!

Makes Steve's comments even less sensible.
