there is no apple menu (or menu bar at all) in the intro video.
did you try force quitting the video?
nope.

the point is, even when passwords are set for users, the default is
STILL to not require a password coming out os sleep. it ABSOLUTELY is
the default out of the box.
So, it's up to the admin to set one and each user. Why is that a bad
thing?
being selectable is good. defaulting to no password is bad.

um, no, a couple examples would be:
- i have the newsgroups window open, and a group window open, telling
it to check for new articles will update the number of messages in the
newsgroup list, but not the articles in the group view.
- what the heck is up with having a 'post news' (that doesn't post),
and a 'post' button, in the compose article window? yeah, real good,
clear, intuitive ui design there guys!
i take it you agree. :P

oh, that was a real question- it was so silly i thought it was
rhetorical! :P the answer is, OBVIOUSLY i think i have the right
things turned on, or i would go change them, right? :D
This is to say did you set it up to share with a Windows box?
Windows Sharing?
yes, smb is enabled. but the problem is that it can't see the smb shares (well, the windows boxes can't see he macbook either, but that's less of a concern right now).

you'd think that someone who uses a preconfigured mac ony semi
regulary would know things like the keyboard shortcut to force quit an
app? what are you saying about the stability of you mac / your apps
jim? :P
I'm not saying mine isn't stable at all but I am saying that if you
desire, there are ways to force quit an app. Sometimes things take over
a browser for ex, so I can force quit the browser if I can't get it to
drop the site I'm into for ex. Just today I had a youtube video take
over the browser when it was playing, you couldn't stop it, or anything
so you'd have to wait however many minutes for it to quit(maybe) or get
out of it. Stability has little to do with my statement.
