The trouble with BluRay, an the reason I have no intention of every
buying a PLAYER, is that the DRM is such fascist crap that every disc is
a new adventure in frustration. I've heard people complaining of *FIVE
MINUTE* load times on their PS3s. That's just waiting for the player to
pass the DRM checks and actually start to put something on the screen.
That's not counting navigating the menu to actually get the movie
playing. There's no chance of my ever buying a BD movie, ever.
But, a BD burner, even (especially?) one that will not play commercial
discs? Well, as soon as the media is cheap, yeah, I'll be all over that.
Someone's blowing smoke up your ass. I've got a PS3 and the longest
I've seen load time from power off to playing the movie was less than a
minute, and that's with the most current available movies.
