Whether it's accurate to say OmniGraffle does or does not read Visio
files is debatable. When stating something of this nature it's important
to add something about special file formats (Visio exchange, in this
case) to avoid the wrath of the pedantic.

That said, I would say that OG reads Visio files. They are nor Word,
PowerPoint, ClarisDRAW, nor any other application's files -- they are
indeed Visio files. I think saying "native Visio" would make it
incorrect, however.

Have you ever received a Visio file in this "Visio Exchange" format?

I haven't, thus OmniGraffe would be useless to me.


Yes. When my client's dept wants a well-done chart of this type, I have
trained them to send me a basic layout in Visio exchange.
