You mean like MS did with the original version of Vista? How long has it been out without any fixes? Over a year? 10.5.2 will probably be out before spring and Leopard's not 6 months old yet.

And very very few of those are for the 300 serious problem fixes in SP1. Over 90% are security fixes.

You have NO IDEA how many of the patches in SP1 have been released on Windows Update previously.

BULL*** IDIOT!! Just last week I posted links to a 74 page Microsoft document outlining SOME of the fixes in SP1. Only about 40% had been available previously and most of those were hotfixes with only limited distribution and not via Windows Update. You continue to prove your technical incompetence with every post.

From that 74 page document:

"Windows Vista Service Pack 1 includes all previously released updates for Windows Vista. Many of these updates are available to the public on the Microsoft Download Center and Windows Update, while others are only available to specific customers or partners. It is standard practice to include all of these updates in a Service Pack and as such they are included in Windows Vista SP1.

This document contains a list of these updates with links to their descriptive webpages on http://support.microsoft.com. There are other updates in Windows Vista SP1 which have not be released as updates and therefore are not presented in this list."

In other words, this entire 74 page document solely lists all updates which have been previously available, either through the Download Center, Windows Update, or by calling in and reporting the problem (which is free if there is a hotfix for it).

Go back and read more carefully. Many of those problems have NO fixes available previously.

1) I read the entire document. You are wrong.

2) Look at the title of the document "Hotfixes and Security Updates INCLUDED IN Windows Vista Service Pack 1". I upper-cased the important part.

If you can reference a particular page # and line I would be happy to admit I am wrong.

Oh, I was wrong about one thing. You can obtain a hotfix free by submitting an online request, you no longer have to call them.
