In the Book of Job, a good, god-fearing man is used as a pawn

Job is an astonishing book where the awesome nature of God is revealed.
God answers Job in chapter 38 after Job questions Him by showing how
insignificant man is when compared to the Almighty God. God's ways are
higher than man's and we cannot fully understand them. We were created
to glorify God and serve Him and not the other way around. God
Job
38 1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, 2 Who
is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? 3 Gird up
now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if
thou hast understanding. 5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou
knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? 6 Whereupon are the
foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; 7
When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted
for joy? 8 Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as
if it had issued out of the womb? 9 When I made the cloud the garment
thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, 10 And brake up for
it my decreed place , and set bars and doors, 11 And said, Hitherto
shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be
stayed? 12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused
the dayspring to know his place; 13 That it might take hold of the ends
of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? 14 It is
turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment. 15 And from
the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
16 Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in
the search of the depth? 17 Have the gates of death been opened unto
thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death? 18 Hast thou
perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all. 19
Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the
place thereof, 20 That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and
that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof? 21 Knowest
thou it , because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days
is great? 22 Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast
thou seen the treasures of the hail, 23 Which I have reserved against
the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? 24 By what way
is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth? 25
Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way
for the lightning of thunder; 26 To cause it to rain on the earth,
where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man; 27 To
satisfy the desolate and waste ground ; and to cause the bud of the
tender herb to spring forth? 28 Hath the rain a father? or who hath
begotten the drops of dew? 29 Out of whose womb came the ice? and the
hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? 30 The waters are hid as
with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. 31 Canst thou bind
the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? 32 Canst
thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus
with his sons? 33 Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set
the dominion thereof in the earth? 34 Canst thou lift up thy voice to
the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee? 35 Canst thou send
lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are ? 36 Who
hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to
the heart? 37 Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the
bottles of heaven, 38 When the dust groweth into hardness, and the
clods cleave fast together? 39 Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or
fill the appetite of the young lions, 40 When they couch in their dens,
and abide in the covert to lie in wait? 41 Who provideth for the raven
his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.
Job is thought to be the oldest book in the Bible by some.
The hydrologic cycle was written down in the book of Job thousands of
years before science discovered and wrote about it.
Job 36:26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the
number of his years be searched out. 27 For he maketh small the drops
of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: 28 Which
the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly. 29 Also can any
understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of
the sea. 31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in
abundance. 32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not
to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt. 33 The noise thereof sheweth
concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
There is another interesting verse.
Job 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth
the earth upon nothing.
I read something from a scientific journal about the atmosphere over the
North Pole and have forgotten what it was and can't find it - maybe you
will discover it.

What kind of monster would demand that a loving father, Abraham,
sacrific his son?
The scripture says that God proved Abraham worthy and that he could be
trusted to follow after HIm in all things after he showed that he was
willing to sacrifice his son. God's intention was never to have Abraham
kill Isaac but to show that he was willing to obey God, even when the
obedience was painful and very difficult. Also, that Old Testament
event foreshadows and is a type of the New Testament event which is the
sacrifice of Jesus, the son of God, on the cross to die for the sins of
the world. In the Old Testament, the Hebrews sacrificed rams, goats,
cattle, birds, and other items were offered as various types of sin
offerings.
But, after the sacrifice of Jesus, the veil of the temple was torn in
the middle and the temple sacrifices ceased.
As it says in Luke 23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was
a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 And the sun was
darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. 46 And when
Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I
commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
Genesis
22 1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt
Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am . 2
And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest,
and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt
offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. 3 And
Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two
of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the
burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had
told him. 4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw
the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye
here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and
come again to you. 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering,
and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a
knife; and they went both of them together. 7 And Isaac spake unto
Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son.
And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a
burnt offering? 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a
lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. 9 And
they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an
altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and
laid him on the altar upon the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched forth his
hand, and took the knife to slay his son. 11 And the angel of the LORD
called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said,
Here am I. 12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do
thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing
thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. 13 And Abraham
lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a
thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him
up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. 14 And Abraham called
the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the
mount of the LORD it shall be seen. 15 And the angel of the LORD called
unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 16 And said, By myself have
I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast
not withheld thy son, thine only son : 17 That in blessing I will bless
thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the
heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall
possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the
nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice
It's interesting that Mount Moriah, where Abraham took Isaac for a
sacrifice, is the same mountaintop where David bought and prepared the
threshing floor of Ornan for the temple and where Solomon built the
first temple. Interesting also, is that today, the Islamic dome of the
rock is said to be over that very spot. Muslims also have built
cemetaries on top of Golgotha, the hill where Christ was crucified and
in front the Eastern Gate of the city of Jerusalem, where Messiah will
enter when he returns. The made a mosque out of the upper room where
Jesus and the disciples had the last supper.
This fool wastes bandwidth quoting the Book of Job! Did you type that in or
cut and paste it? It wouldn't surprise me to find that you did the former.
Its certainly in keeping with the kind of lunatic fanaticism that religious
zealots such as yourself exhibit.
Don't waste people's time quoting this drivel. Everyone has a Bible, let them
go and read it themselves, if they're interested.
II Chronicles
3 1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in
mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the
place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the
Jebusite.
Blah, blah, blah, blah. More fiction from the terminally deluded.
