Aha... I think it is this type comment from you that Steve, perhaps,
misunderstood and clearly dishonesty misattributed to me.

I do not think one has to be technically competent to use OS X - though if
one purposely or even ignorantly does things to break the system it is
breakable... both in terms of hardware and software. The software side is a
bit harder if you have a non-Admin account, but by default users do have
Admin accounts. So if you are *actively* acting in incompetent and
destructive way you can screw your system up...

With that said there is value in learning some basic troubleshooting and
problem solving skills. I often get my Mac users YASU, for example, and
teach them how to use it. For more advanced users I teach them about pref
files. I also teach them to be able to quote error messages - something
Steve, for example, has shown he cannot do (or at least sometimes fails to
do).

Still, OS X takes *less* technical competence to use and maintain than any
other modern consumer OS a user is likely to encounter.


True. But it still requires a person to at least have the technical
capabilities of the average five year old. Something Steve Carroll and Steve
De Mena can't seem to meet.

Don't forget Mooman.. Zero... etc etc..

I do not believe those two are really as lost as they pretend to be... with
Carroll I truly believe he is as he portrays himself... someone who cannot
see why it is wrong to spew false accusations about pedophilia nor
understand why his OS is not responsible for his nym-shifting.
