Well, that's genuine user error. Then again, you've
misused
that
term
so much you've probably forgotten what it really means.
:-)

Bull***. You have to take the machine off the desk and
in
my
case
disconnect over 10 peripherals and take the cabinet apart
and
put
it
back
together. As usaul being a dumb*** YOU HAVEN"T actually
done
it
on
a
Dell
XPS 410 machine.

Sure I haven't. You just take the side panel off. What
peripherals
do you have to disconnect? Dell cases have been designed
so
you
don't
have to disconnect anything for *years.*

You are aware it should only take a minute or two tops
to
put
a
hard
disk in a Dell PC, yes?

and FOUR FUCKING hours to format it.

So you're telling me it takes an hour to do a full
format
on a
500GB
drive using Windows but FOUR hours to do a full format
on a
750GB
disk? Something doesn't add up here...

What doesn't add up is that YOU NEVER DONE IT ON VISTA or
you
would
KNOW
you
can't possibly do a full format on a 500Gb disk in an
hour.

Yup, OK. I'll go tell my computer to slow down now, just
for
you!

My machine is
one of the fastest.

Too bad the same thing can't be said for you.

Vista disk activities are slower than XP dumbass.
(planned fix for SP1)

...right. I can get up to over 20MB/sec copy speeds with
Vista
on a
*laptop* from the internal drive to an external USB drive.
The
thing's got a 1.6GHz Celeron. That doesn't sound very slow
to
me,
especially considering the hardware.

Yet Microsoft is FIXING this problem which you say doesn't
exist.

Then there must be a KB article about it. Link me.

I notice you have no response about your stupidity about
opening
your
own computer's case. That's pretty funny, don't you think?
Oh,
right, you don't think. My mistake.

It took me 10 seconds to open my computers case.

But you were just whining about how long it took! Here, let me
quote
you:

"Bull***. You have to take the machine off the desk and in my
case
disconnect over 10 peripherals and take the cabinet apart and put
it
back
together. As usaul being a dumb*** YOU HAVEN"T actually done

You did that whole convoluted process in 10 seconds? Wow! What
happened to the other 19 minutes 50 seconds, then? Didn't you
realize
you could've just taken the side off and skipped all the other
steps?
Did you spend 18 minutes looking for a screw driver? Packaging
for
the hard disks too difficult to open?

I spent 18 minutes hooking up a Zillion external hardware devices
from
a
VERY messed up set of wiring in back of the desk you ignorant ***.
It
would have taken your sorry ass an hour or more.

Nope, sorry, See, I wouldn't have disconnected all those cables, as
you don't need to disconnect cables to open the case. I've put hard
disks in Dell machines before, John. It's very quick and easy.

My desk is PACKED with MANY other pieces of hardware. There WAS NO
room
to
pull off the side panel without taking the machine off the desk
retarded
one.

Then how was there room to put new disks in your Mac without going
through that whole process?

My Mac is IN A DIFFERENT room Ye dumb***!!!

Oh, right... so then why are you loudly complaining it took 20 minutes
to put a hard disk in your PC when the whole reason it took that long
is because you buried it with other equipment? How does this
translate into Macs in general having the advantage?

As usual you ignorant dumb*** YOU FUCKING can't comprehend what was written
previously. I didn't complain about it taking 20 minutes. I complained
about the FOUR HOUR format time. Next time learn to read.

Yes you did. You thought 20 minutes was important enough to mention.
As for the format, it's not Vista's fault that you didn't use Quick
Format. Again, if a quick format's OK on OS X, why is it suddenly not
OK on Windows? If you want a full disk check during the format,
that's how long it takes to analyze 750GB of space. Deal with it.
And even if you did want the extra verification of a full format, your
claim that it took four hours means that Vista is 2.6 times SLOWER
than XP to do a simple format. That sure as hell doesn't look right.
