So why is it missing a media card reader that is found on $600 Dell?
Apple, which prides itself on it's media handling capabilites, does
not build a laptop that can read a SD card without a USB adapter.
So the answer to the subject line is no, the Mac is not the most
advanced laptop in the world, just the most overpriced.
If your judgment of what is "advanced" is limited to media card reading then
by that rather absurd definition clearly the Mac products are not the most
advanced.
I am not sure why Apple does not offer media card readers, but I suspect it
is because they are not universal - there are too many kinds and to offer a
slot for every type goes against the minimalist design that Apple strives
for.
