Just disable luna and everything's reasonably OK. But VISTA is
garbage. The interface sucks, windows defender sucks, the insane
copyright enbedded in everything sucks. The inability to install
unsigned drivers in the 64 bit version super-sucks (because it creates
a MS tax on every piece of hardware) and worst of all, an install cd
doesn't come with new computers (which is where I got this piece of
shit os). My windows directory on my brand new laptop is 7.67GB Is
that not INSANE? There is so much useless junk in Vista. Windows
sidebar is downright stupid, at least by default. I mean, who wants
to give up 20% or more of their screen for shit that don't change much
like the weather? How often do you need to look at the weather? Once
a day is fine for me. Who needs a giant clock on their screen when
there is one on the lower right hand side? I like mac gadgets,
because they are out of the way except when you need them. The
ability to search the start menu is nice, but that is about the only
nice thing I have to say about Vista after several weeks of use.
Windows defender is the WORST part of Vista! Why in the world does
the whole screen need to dim and tell me that a piece of software that
I just clicked on is trying to run? If I didn't want to run it, I
wouldn't have clicked on it. How about asking me about software
trying to run that I didn't click on? And would I really need the
screen dimmed for that? TERRIBLE! MS has really out done themselves.

1. The sidebar never gets in the way, apps cover it up in full screen
mode
2. Defender is trying to protect you from doing something stupid, and
in your case that seems to be a good thing
3. 7 gb is only 2 gb more than XP and probably about the same size as
Leopard
.
