Just curious Eddie -- how long do you expect a cellphone to last?

Longer than a year.

Thanks 'Eddie'.

Its an open forum. If you want private communications use email.

And since "A year and a day" satisfies your stated
consumer expectations, then you have nothing to complain about a
potential new model arriving sometime next year because your product
will have had acceptable life by that timeframe anyway. After all,
nothing lasts forever.

Actualy my first cellphone lasted almost 5 years. Even then the phone
itself worked fine. The battery would only hold a charge for a day or
two and replacing it was more expensive than geting a new phone. My
second one has lasted almost three years now.

BTW, do keep in mind that the average automobile in the USA is
supposedly only 7 years old...

Which really has nothing at all to do with cellphones.

Except consumer expectations for product life, and except consumer
perspective for product revision cycles. New model automobiles come
out every year, yet the auto itself lasts substantially longer than a
year.

Yet people have different expectations for lifetimes for different
products.

Since Eddie's looking for a windmill to go tilt, why not aim him at
the bigger windmill?

I doubt if such a hamhanded attempt is going to switch him onto
another topic.
