I haven't seen a Zune in the wild in nearly a year. Has anyone?
. . .
Not only have I not seen a Zune anywhere other than a store *at all* I have
yet to find a student in my intro classes who has *heard* of them.
By this time after the opening of the Apple itunes store they
were well beyond 1 million tunes sold.
So the big question is:
How much money does Microsoft have to lose on a project before
they give up?
Anyway, what's with all the WinBoys getting excited about a one day #1
ranking on Amazon electronics?
BIG YAWN. I think we've cleared up that anomaly. It was done via
the old Microsoft trick of MARKET DUMPING a product that won't
sell through the use of below manufacturing cost FIRE SALE
PRICING:
WAS: $249
IS NOW: $119
AKA: Market dumping
-Side question 1: Did this market dumping hurt iPod sales?
-Answer: No way.
-Side question 2: Will getting a price cut Zune I make kids happy
and smiley on Christmas day?
-Answer: Hohoho! Santa screwed you. It doesn't even look like
coal. It looks like a turd. Merry Christmas.
End of story.

Frederick Brooks: I happily use a Macintosh. It's not been
equalled for ease of use, and I want my computer to be a tool,
not a challenge.
