So now profiles posted on the web are supposed to be 'private'?
I
think you need to do some research on how this whole Internet
thing
works.

Anyone using personal information from outside the newsgroup,
especially to discredit another correspondent without making a
factual
point that is on-topic here is a snoop, opportunist and basically
a
creepy stalker in my book.

1) I used their public profiles to show that I had no way of
knowing
something that it was insisted I should know in a posting in this
group.
2) Information posted on the Web and not protected is there for
public
consumption. That's jusy how it is. I assume that Dave has some
sort
of say as to what goes into his profile so there's nothing there
that
he doesn't want anyone to know about him.
3) If I had gone beyond typing a name into Google you might have a
point. The simple fact is that there's a helluva lot of information
about a person that is in public records. I didn't dig up any of
that.

LOL

We've all seen how well you react to any so much as using your
*name*,
Clyde...

Hypocrite, much?

Dave posts under his name and is fully aware of his profile. He
probably wrote it. That's his choice.

You posted under your name. That was your choice.

Or don't the same rules apply when it's you?

Well, Clyde?

Why are you -- normally so willing to state your opinion -- suddenly at
a loss for words?

Its been explained to you numerous times. If I thought that one more
time would make a difference I'd go over it again. However, I have no
reason to expect you to suddenly get a bit of class so I'm not going
to waste my time.

No, Clyde.

You've never explained why what you put out there by your choice should
be treated differently than what Dave puts out there.

I dare you to produce a reference that shows anything else.

Actually, I didn't put it out there, my employer did. After all, every
faculty member also has a profile at that site.
