Prompt to say the least, just the way it should be.
Vista users are still waiting for SP1, nine month after its initial
release.
Do bear in mind that while MS does not number these things in the same way,
they do release fixes in various forms before they get to a whole Service
Pack. While the bugs Vista shipped with do not seem to be as awful as the
ones in Leopard [1], many of them have been fixed with patches distributed
on Windows Update. Others have hotfixes available via other means.
A large part of the bug fixes that SP1 will offer can be had right now,
though not all have yet undergone the testing MS thinks they should.
Naturally, the MS approach is better: MS gets to do a lot more testing of
the fixes they put in Windows Update, but if you need a fix that hasn't
finished that testing, you can still get it.
[1] It's hard to top the "Move = Delete" bug, really. Vista's "Slow Network
Copies" bug is totally inferior.
You are correct. I have a Vista box and 3 Macs. After upgrading the
three Macs to Apple Vista, er, I mean Leopard, the Vista box is most
stable of the four. Who da thot?

I have updated 2 macs to Leopard, no problems whatsoever. Leopard is a
major improvement. However I am running Vista in a dual boot on my
MacBook Pro, it is slow, buggy and user-unfriendly.
