LOL! It looks like someone forgot that Apple is just another whitebox
maker with a proprietary OS nowadays. The HW that you disdain so much
is in your Mac as well.

I sorta thought he was referencing the audio hardware here... I could be
wrong.
Thanks to Core Audio... audio hardware/software solutions on the Mac
provide
capabilities that Windows users don't yet have (in this instance... this
Apogee
device makes use of Core Audio to lower the price point).

the topic here is audio... and Apogee makes really excellent convertors...

he says otherwise I prefer to believe that's what his comment was about.



I was referring to the fact that Apogee has a A/D encoder, designed to
utilize Apple's core audio technology that incorporates Apogee's
award-winning, great sounding converters in a Mac-only package that's
elegant, versatile and easy to use.

What I did not mention was that practically all of Apogee's current products,
from the Duet, to the Symphony series, to the Ensemble series to the X-Card
PCI expansion cards are mostly Mac only and are designed primarily to be used
with Soundtrack Pro and Logic Pro modules of Final Cut Pro, although many
will work with GarageBand. Several cards come with Windows drivers, but these
are mostly FireWire interface cards.
