Q6600 under Windows is ugly. Windows does not do multiprocessing
well. It loads up the first core and will only use others when a
thread not locked the first falls into a class of threads that can be
sent to other cores. Some apps can run multiprocessor/core but most I/
O functions are still mired in Windows lack of multiprocessing. So
you have a crappy 6600 core chip. You would be better served I2D 6700
as the numbers will show.
Everything else is crappy white box stuff and you still have to buy a
RETAIL version of whatever copy of Windows you want to run on this
thing to be legal.
At least you could run Linux or BSD and actually use four cores like
OSX and avoid M$ licensing.
