Doing the right thing? You do realize you have a warranty they must
cover,
right?

Sure - and based on the warranty they could have me go to my local
authorized outlet and pay extra to have my computer not sit for a couple
of
weeks without being looked at. If I did not want to do that the next
option was to drive 50+ miles to go to the next closest authorized
location
or 100+ miles to the closest actual Apple store... and still have to
wait
and not have a machine... none of them do loaners or rentals.

They went above and beyond their contractual obligations. I appreciate
that they did so.

Wake up... the *only* reason you're getting a new machine is because they
(rightfully) placed your unit under the DOA clause of Apple's Sales and
Refund
policy.

They could have opted to just repair it and make me wait. They did not.

Once they determine that it falls under the DOA clause (and your unit most
definitely did) then Apple offers *you* the option to replace or service.

Please show, Steve, where my situation strictly falls under all the criteria
for DOA. Next show how once it is determined to be DOA they are obligated
to do as they are doing - sending me a replacement within 2 days.

Why would I need to "show" what you have already stated? Put down the crack
pipe;)
