Why are these people complaining. You are Jobs little bitches. He knows
you'll pay whatever price he sets no matter what the product. You paying 40%
more because you are a Mactard is par for the course. You paid the idiot
tax, now deal with it.
So what about all of the people paying for Vista "Premium"?
Sorry, don't see the analogy. Did the list price of Vista (any
version) go down 33% two months after its introduction?

You don't think MS is taking advantage of market opportunities and
engaing in the same type of price discrimination (an economic term,
not a perjorative one) with the six different versions of Vista?
There seem to be six different variations of iPods now...flash, hard
disk, 1GB, 4GB, etc. Different sets of features, different price
points, just as with Vista.

So I can just hack something in the $79 shuffle and make it a 16GB
iPod Touch? How much more does it cost to manufacturer a DVD with
Vista Basic than Vista Premium? Microsoft has higher margins on each
Vista license sold than Apple has on each iPod. So is MS price
gouging?

Actually, to answer your question in a way, I think MS priced Vista a little too high, but on the other hand people compare apples with oranges when they compare the retail price for "Vista Premium" ($400 or so) with the price Windows XP Professional was going for. Premium has "WIndows Plus!" included, and also Media Center Edition and Tabled Edition, all in one. Most people don't need those. The equivalent to XP Professional is more like Vista Home Premium, which is about $100 in OEM versions.
