Even Microsoft's director or veep of whatever of security said
sometimes it
gets so bad you just gotta reformat.

The saddest part of this couple's story is that it will happen again.
Their 60
year-old son has a penchant for porno and Russian web sites. He's
obsessed with their women, and the idea of a mail-order bride.

We all know what that does to a WinBlows computer.

Again, if this "consultant" knows what he is doing, he configured
their PC so it wouldn't happen again.

Y'know Stevie.. you make a good point. IF you configure the accounts to
be "regular" or "constrained" users then you're right... most of the
viruses and trojans out there can't be installed because they require
administrator access to propagate.

However, any access you set can be gotten around. And since may of even
the most mundane software packages needs Admin access to the computer,
most people become too lazy to keep admin access turned off, or simply
cannot.
