If I can't use it when I want to then its useless to me. If you had a
car that only started half the times you wanted it to would you call
it useful because you were able to use it half the time?
the iPod is not like a car battery, there is no "starter" in an iPod
Mayor. The ipod will still run for 4-8 years without replacement, it's
just the "LEGNTH" of time will be shortened over time since Apple is
smart about using the least amount of batteries for the longest life.
But more to the point, cars would do this ALL THE TIME, if only we
didn't refill them. But both devices (cars and iPhones) have a way to
tell you how much energy remains. You can do something about both.
So, yes, you give credit to the car for being able to do what it does.
You fill it when you need, and when convenient. If you don't, you lose
the use of it.
The question is whether iPhone can retain it's charge long enough to be
useful between charges, and that may not be true; but switching
batteries isn't the only possible response to that.
Carrying the charger is a good response.
third-party car charger
external battery pack
Do the iPod accessories already do all of these?
