... the #1 licensing question asked about Windows Vista is:
What downgrade rights does Windows Vista Business have?
According to the blog, "We have received this question
countless times." The #2 question also deals with how to
downgrade to Windows XP.
-----

Not exactly a glowing recommendation for Vista.

also not a huge deal- businesses are notoriously slow to upgrade
operating
systems. we finally got done testing our software and upgrading all our
systems at work to xp last year, and have started testing vista- should
be
ready to upgrade in 4 years or so. :D

If those are really the number one and number two questions,

*from businesses* is the key.

Only because it's harder for Mr. Consumer to downgrade and since
hardware comes with Vista pre-installed, what is Mr. Consumer going to
do? Not fight the tide for sure unless they're advanced techies.

though, that
simply does not speak well of Vista - no matter how you spin it.

it's not spin saying businesses are notoriously slow to upgrade and have
more rigid testing. it's a simple fact- i'm sure (or hope) you recommend
the same to the clients you consult for regarding os upgrades, for windows
or mac.

It's also dollars and cents. An enterprise, or even small business,
isn't going to fix what isn't broken and isn't going to replace what
they just got installed, tuned and working well. Lots of places went to
2000 and then to XP so they've had two recent upgrades and at what cost?
