Fact of the matter is that it *was* done on other platforms. That's why
you can surf the web on non-NeXT platforms.

Fact of the matter is it *started* on NeXT and may not have happened if
TBL had had to spend "more like a year" on the project. Remember: the
Web was a sideline for him.

Yes, Alan has it correct.

It's entirely possible the "www" would have NEVER happened without
NeXTSTEP and Interface builder.

Sure it easy to say "sure it would have happened" at some point, but the
pure fact remains, Steve's NeXT Company spawned the "www", just like the
apple // spawned the first spreadsheet, the mac 512 spawned PageMaker,
Mac II, spawned Photoshop, PowerPoint, etc.
