No doubt the reason lots of folks prefer Gnome. I know I do. But then no
matter which you prefer you are likely to end up with programs that are
deigned for the other... so your environment is likely going to end up being
a bit schizophrenic... far worse than the Aqua/metal/unified "problem" Apple
has had... and is not getting away from.

While it might offer similar functionality it's no where near the
usability of either XP or OSX. Come on, look at the frigging control
panel. I've seen tax documents that are more user friendly.

LOL! Good analogy - at least for US folks. Yeah, the settings in KDE are a
complete and total mess - worse than what MS has in its control panel or in
Word. Really, what are the KDE folks thinking? They need to get some
people who understand usability issues.
