It looks like OpenGL and DirectX games will soon be doable, not in Boot
Camp but in Parallels 3 and MacOSX.

One step closer to completely transparent, fluid, carefree,
platform-agnostic computing ... and only on a Mac.

And yet again we see Windows being used to advocate the Mac. Too funny!

It isn't through any virtue of windows, merely due to MSs dominance in
the PC market and their imposition of DirectX on the world as opposed to
something more open to competition.

The fact that people will go to such lengths to avoid having to use
windows interface and still play games only written for MS proprietary
tech says a lot about the superiority of the mac platform. Otherwise we
would just get a windows-only machine. Parallels works to make the
windows interface as invisible as possible. It's the next-best thing to
doing away with it altogether.

Even if you don't agree with the above, your reply to what Craig wrote
is completely missing the point.

So the Mactards say when I point out reality to them.

How does the aim of 'platform-agnostic' computing relate to windows
being used to advocate them mac?

Who cares about being platform agnostic? Just use the one that runs all the software you need to run. In the end, for whatever reason, that happens to be Windows. That's why I use it. If OS X runs all the software you require, great! Use it if you want.

After all, the applications are what people want, not windows. to put it more
simply, the aim of people using parallels is to run certain apps IN
SPITE of their being only windows apps, on a mac with the minimum
possible use of windows' UI.

If you're running OS X and Windows in Parallels then you chose the wrong platform. It's completely foolish to choose OS X only to have to run Windows too. Basing this choice on ideology is foolish.
