As of now (7:50 am HST), Apple is over 117, up more than 3. I bought
Apple, before the last split, at about 26, meaning I'm getting damn
close to making 1000% on my (unfortunately, too small) investment.

MIlestone for the day: Apple's market capitalization is now over $101
billion, and they're worth more than Oracle.

I give it six months for them to pass up HP, a year to pass IBM, and
two to three years to pass Microsoft (sooner if MSFT's shareholders
keep Ballmer around, later if they wise up and can his incompetent
ass.)

Just for some more prospective....
HPQ - 122.21 Billion
AAPL - 102..60 Billion
Dell - 59.48 Billion
Tosb - 23.79 Billion
Lenova - 4.47 Billion
Gateway - 664.91 *Million*

So Apple with its measly 3% marketshare is worth more than Dell (#2
US), Gateway (#3 US),Toshiba (#4 US) and Lenova (#3?? Worldwide)
combined.

Thank God for those iPods.

You do realize that even without the iPod Apple would have made around
$350 Million profit last quarter, don't you? That's still more than
every other publically traded computer manufacturer in the world
except for Dell and HP.With the iPod they make more than Dell.

Question though....if Macintosh users are stupid for buying overpriced
computers then what does that make all of the Windows users buying
iPods?

Are iPods considered overpriced?- Hide quoted text -

The biggest selling iPod is the Shuffle (by far), since it's the
cheapest way to enter the "cool" iPod club. And Shuffle isn't
considered overpriced.

1. Apple was selling tons of iPods before the shuffle came out
2. Apple doesn't break down sales of iPods by capacity.
3. The Average Selling Price of all iPods combined is $160 (http://
daringfireball.net/2007/05/iphones_funny_price#fn1-2007-05-01) meaning
Aple is selling a lot of Nanos and 30 and 80GB iPods.
4. Estimates are that Apple makes $40 on each Shuffle sold (based on
3rd party break down analysis).
5. You can buy much cheaper 1GB MP3 players.
