Suppose he doesn't see it? Many audio systems have multiple monitors...
are you claiming to know for a fact that these warnings will show up on
every monitor?
And these monitors are on the other side of the room from each other
or something? I've got two monitors on mine and I used to have three.
I've had no trouble noticing when a dialogue box popped up.
You didn't answer my question. I'll try it again:
Suppose he doesn't see it?
Sometimes engineers are busy with things while a recording is going on.
They don't always get to look at every screen the entire time they're in
a session. Now... I know this next bit will be a real shocker to you but
in some studios the monitors aren't always positioned next to each
other. Some people prefer to have a screen that displays certain kinds
of recording activity separately and that is generally what they watch
while working. Sometimes they do it in a location that isn't near the
other monitor(s)... where they can do other things while they keep an
eye on the screen they need to watch. I do this if I'm called in as a
guest engineer while I play live simultaneously on some sessions. Let's
dispense with your fantasy that you know what goes on in a recording
session and see if you're now willing to answer my question or if you'd
prefer lacing up your newest pair of tracks shoes again.
. By the way... that'd be the *real*
world... which obviously doesn't have anything to do with your world;)
Unable to respond with actual facts, Steve resorts to personal
attacks...again.
Quit your whining, Clyde... this scenario was obviously a joke. Now that
I look at it... perhaps it's closer to reality than you'd like and
that's what has your nose so out of joint;)
Realizing that all is lost, Steve says 'jus' kiddin'' and heads for
the tall grass.
Gee, I guess you missed the smiley in my OP... I've taken the liberty of
pointing it out for you up above... so wipe that egg off your face and
go check it out.
I actually thought this issue was sort of a joke, which is why I was
initially joking about it... but now I can see it isn't... it's a
potentially serious issue for mission critical apps... and here you are
trying to play it off like it's no big deal. No wonder you are so
perturbed about it.
Hey, Steve, please decide if you were joking or not!
By the way, XP *does* pop up a message from the notification area as it
starts doing the update. Just thought you should know before you humiliate
yourself some more...
