How is noting that linking to slipshot as a Photoshop-like application
was
a
silly thing to do.

Because as far away from PS as the app might be, the app is still closer
to PS than it is to an email app... which was the point. The only silly
thing was your comparison to PS... a thing you focused on while the
"actual" point soared miles above your head.

Oh, that is right... you claimed your "honesty meter" is
broken... so you just spew lies.

Yeah.. everyone is always lying, Snit <eyeroll>.

You broke the csma stupidity meter.

Hey! Steve figured out that a program that alters images is "closer to PS
than it is to an email app".

Which was the point. By the way, why didn't you figure it out having
having people tell it to you? LOL!

Note: Steve lied when he implied I did not know that a program that alters
images is "closer to PS than it is to an email app".

Please try to stop lying, Steve.

It's not a lie to point out that you showed you missed the point, Snit.
If you got the point, you would not have made the comparison you made.
When a guy says that apps like PS "will live" on the web it's implicit
that he believes they DO NOT 'currently live' on the web. But going
ahead and keep arguing against reality;)

He probably pointed to the app that he did as an example for people that
may have never seen anything other than web-based email apps... not as a
comparison to PS... hence his prediction that they "will live" on the
web at some point in the future. Pretty simple stuff here.

Way to go, Steve! Man... your computer skills are getting better all the
time!

You blew it, though, when you claimed that "the point" of having the word
Photoshop link to a webpage was to show that the program on the page was
not
an email program (your comprehension skills still need a *lot* of work).
Here is the exact quote, again:

<http://www.paulgraham.com/microsoft.html>
-----
It now seems inevitable that applications will live on
the web-not just email, but everything, right up to Photoshop.
-----

Read the page

One needn't read any further than "not just email" to get the obvious
point.

, Steve... nowhere does it talk about that program being unlike
email and more like Photoshop (which you thought was "the point").

By the time you get to "right up to Photoshop" you're wading in the
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

point, that is, if you can comprehend what you read;)

It says
that programs will live on the web... "right up to Photoshop", but the
linked page from the word "Photoshop" is not "right up to Photoshop".

And?

Oh, I get it... you mistakenly assumed that when he said "will live" he
meant 'currently lives'...

Incorrect: thanks for admitting you did not understand what you read.

yes, your reading comprehension is very
poor... as has been noted by numerous posters on this ng. What of it?

Ah, as you imply above, Steve, you did not read past the word "email".

No, I didn't imply that... in fact, I 'implied' that I read past that.
Of course, you're the guy with the reading comprehension problem who
must make the fact known every 5 minutes. Reality shows I wrote:

"By the time you get to "right up to Photoshop" "

Oops! Apparently I *did* read what you just claimed I didn't read... and
I even referenced it in this post that you responded to... and, hey! I'm
referencing it here AGAIN. Go figure.

If
you had, Steve, you would have seen the words "right up to Photoshop" and
noted that the word "Photoshop" linked to snipshot... a program that is
clearly *not* "right up to Photoshop".

As I said, his words "will live" in his statement were totally lost on
you. What's your point? That you haven't effectively convinced everyone
of your monumental reading comprehension problem yet? Trust me, you
accomplished that goal long ago.

That, of course, is the point I am
making... and it is one that you are not able to comprehend.

You are making your 'point' based on things that have nothing to do with
reality.

Do you want to push a never ending debate based on your lack of
understanding or shall we just let it drop.

I have no need to let anything drop. *You* are the guy who insisted on
making the comparison with PS here, not the author, not me. If you shut
up about it... I have no need to keep pointing out your error based on
your inability to comprehend what was written.

I vote for letting it drop... I
bet the rest of CSMA, other than your moronic co-trolls, agree with me that
CSMA is not served well with your BS and hate filled trolling.

If you are going to keep pretending you're right when reality shows
otherwise... then you're in for a long, hard ride.

Here are the facts (of which Steve will run from!):

<http://www.paulgraham.com/microsoft.html>
-----
It now seems inevitable that applications will live on
the web-not just email, but everything, right up to Photoshop.
-----

The word "Photoshop" was linked to the snipshot page... and yet, of course,
snipshot is nowhere near "right up to Photoshop".

Simple. Easy. Nothing that a reasonable person would disagree with... and
yet Carroll will go on and on and on and:

* make the "brilliant" observation that snipshot is not web email
* lie and claim I did not figure out his "brilliant" observation
* lie and claim I did not understand the concept of "will live"
* be unable to end his trolling based on his being consumed by hatred

It really is that easy, Steve... who do you think is stupid enough to be
fooled by your games? I still vote for letting your trolling on this just
drop. Please.
