I'm getting a Mac Pro, but am thinking about the Dell 24" monitor instead
of Apple's 23" Cinema Display.

I'm running two older model 24" Dell panels and they are very
nice.

One of the appealing things about the Dell (aside from price) is the card
reader built-in to the display. I must have a card reader, and this would
be a cool way to get one without having a box on the desktop.

I hope they have upped the bus speed, the oldel model I own 2 of
has USB 1.1, so the card reader are basically worthless. Make
sure before you buy.

Unfortunately, I read (on this forum, if I remember correctly) that the
card reader is only a USB 1.1 device. If that's true it's useless to me.
Dell's site does not specify, so does anyone here know for sure?

The older 2405 model definitely was. Dell's site is short on
specs, why don't you call them and find out.
