720p is almost indistinguishable from 1080p, from a few feet away from

And the funny part is that you actually think these sort of things are
true. I'm always amazed by your ignorance, Nashton.
Get yourself a good 1080p TV, and throw that plasma junk you have out
in the garden and let the neighbourhood kids play with it. You'll
thank me later when you see the difference.
I don't know if your "theory" is really true. I recently saw two 40"
Sony's
at Best Buy - they were side by side. One was 720, the other was 1080. As
hard as we looked - we couldn't see a difference.
It's not a "theory" that 1080p has more pixels than 720p... it's also
not a theory that everyone possesses the same degree of visual acuity.
This was great, zara actually thinks higher fidelity in 1080>720 is
just a "theory" :-D
Classic. Even so, she's not as ignorant as Nashton, which says quite a
lot. :-D
Come on, Sandman, where did *anyone* claim there was no difference in
fidelity... the claim is that the difference, at least for most video, does
not matter. Heck, for many sources you do not even get input of 1080p.
And, if we look at the current market, we find:
<http://www.electronichouse.com/article/expert_interview_720p_vs_1080p/>
-----
With the current market, at the same price point the
decision is often between single-chip 1080p and three-chip
720p projectors. Because it has no color wheel, the higher
color accuracy of three-chip technology may very well
outweigh the enhanced resolution that comes with 1080p.
...
because each installation and each consumer¹s perspective
will vary, I would always recommend a side-by-side
comparison of the two types of products in order to
determine which is best for a specific installation. In the
end, you can¹t really lose, as both 1080p and 720p products
are capable of delivering outstanding picture quality for
home theaters
...
Ultimately, there are no hard and fast rules?the most important
thing to do is demo, demo, demo.

Sandman, as is his norm, shows little understanding of technology.
