Duh. I guess it's too early in the morning for me. The System folder
wouldn't be in the user directory... ;p
Not having actually done this, but I assume one would delete files in
the System folder by dragging them to the trash, just like one deletes
any other file. Although I would also assume one would need the proper
permissions in order to do this.
