Mac Pro and Parallels

I have been a Meade LX200 Telescope user for 12 years. I have been
using a PC
laptop running Windows 98 (got a good deal ) for several years with
the Meade LPI. Works fine when the weather is clear. I am really a
Mac person and am looking into an Apple Laptop (New) that runs OS X
10.4 and Windows XP. This is done with a program called Parallels. I
was wondering if anyone has experience running this configuration with
the Lunar and Planetary Imager (LPI). I really don;t want get spend
the amount of money I am
talking about unless it does what I want. Thought I would start
posting to get information

thanks for your time

.
