i have no idea how to install vlc player
vlc website says:-
add to your /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb ftp://ftp.videolan.org/pub/videolan/ubuntu dapper universe
And run
% sudo apt-get update
% sudo apt-get install vlc vlc-plugin-esd mozilla-plugin-vlc
libdvdcss2
What steps do i need to take to make vlc work, is it something to do
with "terminal" (i only want to play movies)
Thanks
Lewis
I think you have the wrong newsgroup. This
doesn't sound Apple Mac related. Try a Linux group.
Since he mentioned terminal, I think he asked the question in the right
group. It looks to me that he using the Debian Linux install instructions
instead of MacOS.
The answer to the question is go to their website www.videolan.org, and
download the MacOS X version. The download page has instalation instructions.
The file you will download is a disk image. You open it up, which mounts
a virtual disk on your desktop. Open the virtual disk, and drag VLC to
your applications folder. If you want open the applications folder
and drag VLC to your dock.
