What the hell?
1. Obviously Vista runs on a new Compaq. They wouldn't be selling
machines that don't run the current version of Windows.
Where did he say it was new?
One can assume.
Why would one assume that it's a new computer?
True, but his listing a price isn't very relevant if the computer's
not new and he doesn't give the year of purchase.
If he's not talking about a new computer, that's even worse, as that
gives absolutely no reference point for judging the
computer he's talking about.
Hence the reason I said "If you don't know the model how can you offer
comments about it?"
As for Vista RUNNING, I can get Vista to_run_ on an old crappy
eMachines
from 2000. So?
Which is in opposition to what many Mac advocates have been saying.
Eh.. sort of? I think most of them have been complaining about stuff
like Aero not running on older machines. I'm guessing one of the
feature's that $399 Compaq doesn't support is Aero. My point is that
the OS will _run_, just not with all the fancy new features - it'll
run like Win2K (which is not a bad thing... after all, I'm running
Vista in classic right now).
2. The Mac hardware is way beyond a cheap Compaq, capable of
running
Vista to its full potential (unlike your crappy Compaq, which, I
might
add, you never even pointed to for a model number or anything)
If you don't know the model how can you offer comments about it?
He himself said that it wouldn't run Vista to its full potential.
That's why I can say that.
But you also said it was "cheap" and "crappy".
He said it was a $399 computer. He also said it's a Compaq. Those
two factors combined with his saying it couldn't run everything in
Vista is enough justification for my statements.
Get off the Internet, loser. You obviously have no idea what you're
doing.
He seems to know exactly what he's doing and has been very successful
about
it.
You're right, he's a very successful troll. My mistake.
And good at getting you to make his arguments for him (see above where
you
argue that you can install Vista on an old crappy eMachine from 2000). I
must say he's quite good.
...except saying you can get the OS to run isn't the same thing as you
can get the OS to do all its fancy new tricks. I'm not sure how that
supports his argument of "a cheap Compaq can run Vista better than a
Mac", either.
It's running great this morning. I just slapped in another gig of RAM, now
it has 2 gigs. It runs Aero pretty well also. But not as fast as my Dell
Precision.
