Define what *you* mean by a Wintel box.
Slade runs in 3... 2... 1...
So predictable... so painfully predictable.
Do these trolls think they are clever?
A little constructive criticism:
I do not mind well thought out constructive criticism.
1) you are expanding your enemy list. Not a good idea. John Slade is a
pretty
fair and balanced guy.
If you think he is fair and balanced I can respect a difference of opinion,
but I disagree. He has made all sorts of bizarre and inaccurate statements
about the Mac and about Windows and PCs in general... things such as these
claims of his:
- He claimed one has to log in as root to install software on OS X
- He claimed that the hack a Mac contests were rigged, but offered no
evidence
- He has shown a lack of knowledge in understanding thread drift on Usenet
- He claimed he can point to a set of XP applications that are
roughly equal to and as good as iLife on OS X. He never did.
- He claimed that the Mac Mini is all about size... and even lied
that the Mac web site only looks at that.
- He claimed that there are no new video cards (not new models, mind you)
with only 32 MB of Ram. He even claimed they were probably not
covered under warranty, even after you were given links to cards that
were!
- He belittled the lowest end Mac based on the fact that it is not
a high end machine.
- He sinks to personal attacks when I asked him what made him think
two chips he said were comparable were as he claimed.
- He claims to believe cookies are "ware"... they are not.
- Slade has denied their are OS X clusters
- Slade spreads FUD about Mac malware
- Slade has shown a very weak understanding of Apple's business model...
though I will grant he correctly predicted the Intel transition where
I did not
- Slade has claimed that even when Apple was licensing their OS they did
so only to one company... which was flat out wrong
And on and on... he really is not very knowledgeable for one who claims to
be in the industry.
He is a good troll, Edwin is a good troll - there are some very good trolls
out there. You, in fact, are a good troll.
Trolling or not, he made those claims... and showed he cannot support them.
Out of curiosity: how do you define "troll"?
As far as "expanding" my "enemy list", Slade has made it clear he is not
fond of me. I will *still* speak the truth.
He's a fair guy - you and he, have to work it out yourselves.
He claims to have me kill filtered... if so hard to work things out beyond
that. :)
2) When you demand something, such as your, "Define what *you* mean by a
Wintel box",demand - you must add another qualifying demand. The weak
minded cannot cope with more than one problem at a time.
Not sure what you mean... I only did give him one "problem". I really do
want him to comply.
I didn't mean him.
And a compliment: It's good to see the control you have over Sandman, SteveAh... yes, a compliment may have been a good thing. While I do not agree
Carroll and the other jerk- whatshisface. Keep them jumping through the fire
hoops.
with your above points you did end on a point that was clearly constructive.
Thanks!
With warmest regards
your fan
zara
But... but... Sandman says everyone hates me!
Sandman - hates - himself - above - all.
Absolutely no argument here. None at all.
