Record in "slow to wake from sleep"

What is your guy's records in getting your portables to wake from sleep?
I'm lying in bed atm due to the flu, so I'm browsing from bed. For that
purpose, I need my IBM THinkpad, which has been resting and recharging
on my sesk for the night.
So I open it, and wait for it to wake up.
Guess what? Despite the recent RAM upgrade (which usually speeds up
waking from sleep), it took no less than 5 minutes 30 seconds for it to
wake up.
And when it finally wakes up, the CPU is maxed out for several
minutes.. huh. Oh well.
