For some good debating material, see my Mac / Win comparison page:I read through your list. As a relative newcomer

to OS X (a few months) I don't feel knowledgeable

seems like a well thought out list of which I can
generally agree.
Thank you.
It is an extra (free) utility fro Microsoft, but
the XP "Power Toys" TweakUI fixes a number of the
items on your XP disadvantages list. It is one of
the first things I install on a new XP system.
I have played with TweakUI and use it to do things like reduce the number of
damned bubble help thingies XP throws at me... but can you be specific. I
will add my (XP can get) notation where appropriate.
TweakUI:
Control panels can not be easily added or removed [TweakUI can toggle on/off any of the control panels]
Pop up balloon"help" that gets in the way of working with the computer [TweakUI can disable]
Special folders with inconsistent rules (My Computer, Fonts, etc.) [TweakUI can edit these locations and allow you to merge them or put them in easier-to-find locations]
Font folder oddities (have to rebuild, names change when fonts moved) [TweakUI can repair the "Font" folder, along with other special folders. (the font folder is the only one I have to repair occasionally)
Additionally I use it to:
Remove "Shortcut" overlays [default: an arrow] on desktop shortcut icons
Auto-logon on startup [only on secure machines here at home]
