Not true. I'm running 10.4.6 on my current PCs for free.

Mike
How do you know it isn't true.
Um, because he doesn't *have* to?

He said --he'd-- have to buy a new computer.
I know that, but maybe he doesn't realize the current state of OS X86.
It's real and it works.

Mike
The current state of Mac OS X is that it only legally runs on computers
that Apple sells.

hmmm... I would count one thing in OSX's favour. Well, two, actually: I run
10.4 on a 350MHz G3 iMac with 128MB of RAM and on a 400MHz G3 Powerbook
(Lombard) with 320MB of RAM. OK, the iMac is a /little/ sluggish on the
virgin install, but that's to be expected on decade-old hardware with the
(designed-in? tho it does have a pair of 20GB hard drives) hardware
limitations. But the Lombard - build date November 1999 - absolutely flies.
Could be something to do with the 1MB on-die cache...

"Requirements
Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 processor
Built-in FireWire
DVD drive for installation
256MB of RAM
3GB of available hard disk space (4GB if you install the developer tools) "

You're claiming that your G3 iMac is "a little sluggish" with half the required amount of RAM. I think you're being very generous.
