SecureWorks has issued a disclaimer about the alleged demonstration of a
Mac Book being compromised through its wireless connection.

Contrary to reports it is now clear that Dave Maynor and Jon "Johhny
Cache" Ellch rigged the Mac Book for the demo. Not only did they use a
third party wireless card but they now admit they also used third party
driver software. They did not use the Mac Book's built-in wireless card
nor did they use Apple's supplied drivers.

They rigged the Mac Book and then lied about it to the press. Once again
the proof is in the pudding. So-called security researchers hate Apple
and OS X so much they are willing to stage a rigged demo and lie about
it in public.

Have you watched the actual demonstration video on their site? When they
show the Apple they hold up the 3rd party wireless card and identify it as
such.

Yes, but they also claimed the standard drivers and hardware had the
same flaw, and claimed that they were demoing with a third-party card
because Apple had "leaned on" them[1]. This smelled pretty fishy from
the start, and it now appears it was a complete fabrication.

Moreover, they noted that they found similar flaws with some Windows
wireless drivers[2], and a bit of common sense makes it obvious that
these were far more threatening, since there are probably far more
Windows users who use the products in question than Mac users using
certain models of third-party wireless card. Despite this, they made
their story all about the Mac, and evidently convinced Brian Krebs of
the Washington Post to do the same. It's pretty clear they had an axe to
grind.
