production. They probably all had the same model
WiFi kit installed, with the manufactures recommended
junkware.

I do. The odds don't favor it.

I forgot to mention, a few months ago I got my mother one of those very
cheap Dell 1300 laptops. It had the same wireless software
pre-installed, and also could not be connected to any wireless network
straight out of the box.

I was quite disbelieving of what I was seeing as well, to be honest. I
hadn't ever heard of anyone besides me having these problems before
that.

I haven't seen so many problems with Windows as I have from Maccie here on this newsgroup.


It's rather difficult to see what you refuse to look at... like the numerous links that have been provided to you many times on the topic of problems with Windows.
