Apparently the new definition of "advocacy" is posting unpaid (?)
advertisements of a company's products to Usenet...
If the advertisement is from the company you are advocating then yes,
obviously.
Obviously you don't know the difference between an advocate and a shill.
I don't know anything about Jim.
You know that he makes spam posts to this group.
Considering that you're not a Mac owner or user, you really don't have
much to say.
How do you know that, and why would I need to own or use Macs to
comment on your spam?
Of course you think posting anything that doesn't agree
with your position would be spam.
Your mind-reading act failed completely.
But, since you're lost, I'll clarify it for you. Posting things about
the Mac, new Macs and hardware/peripherals, is about advocating the Mac
in a Mac NG. I know that's a bit hard for you, but try anyway.
You seem to be the lost one. You didn't post anything newsworth
about the new eMac, you only posted its price and where to buy it.
You posted an ad. You spammed the group.
Posting things about Windows, or hardward is also ok since many Mac
users also use or have a PC/Windows.
No, it's okay because comparing those things to a Mac is why this group
exists. You still labor under the mistaken notion this is a private
club for Mac owners.
Once you get your anger and bias out of the way, these things might be
clearer for you.
Keep telling yourself that, Jim.
And since you included a question
mark in your original response, neither do you.
That didn't indicate I "don't know anything about Jim." Unlike you, I
don't read this group with blinders on.
What a laugh. You do have blinders on there eddie. They're "bias-based
blinders" that you wear all the time.
You misspelled Jim as "eddie."
