"The next time you her an alarming speech about
'global warming' on Earth Day, just remember
that the first Earth Day featured alarms about
the danger of a new Ice Age."

Thomas Sowell

As odd as it may seem, global warming could trigger a new Ice Age.
The temperatures in northern areas of the globe are moderated by warm
ocean currents that warm the air that passes over the continents.
England and the NW U.S. are two prime examples that would be much
colder without those warming ocean currents.

If the earth warms, the pattern of currents in the oceans would be
disrupted, even stopped in some cases. As the northern areas of the
continents grew colder, the polar ice would extend further south, and
it would trigger a cascading effect.

It didn't during the Medieval Warm Period when temperatures were even
higher than they're expected to reach now. Why would it now?
The simple fact is that climate has always varied. The variations that
we're seeing now fall easily within the normal range. The people
freaking out now are either atmospheric scientists grasping at all the
funding that they can stuff in their pockets and anti-capitalist exremists
looking to use it as an excuse to shut down Western economies.
Much like all the other DOOM!sayer episodes, this one is long on noise and
short on actual DOOM!.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of scientists, who actually study such
things, say you are wrong.

The people who disagree include NASA scientists, who don't gain
anything by saying global warming is occuring.

The consensus story is a Big Lie. There's a petition that nearly
20,000 scientists signed that disagrees with you.
But much like the defenders of the hockey stick need to pretend the
Medieval Warm Period and the Little Ice Age never happened the leftie
extremists need to ignore that fact.
