This is, I think, a strong argument that Mac OS X *is not*
resistant to viruses or anything like that.

If it *were*, Mac advocates would know all about it and
would tell us what Apple does right, or what Microsoft does
wrong, the produces these numbers. [1]

But they do not. They point to the much, much higher
incidence of malware on Windows, and leave it at
that.

It must be something exogenous to the product itself;
it may be the Mac's very low marketshare, or perhaps
some charactaristics of the users who use Macs.

[1] Slightly inaccurate numbers, by the way. Mac advocates
routinely deny the reality of Mac OS X malware when it
is found; but it has happened (on rare occasions) for all
that.
