Agreed. To many of the silly battles in CSMA are based on these type of
semantic games. The word "PC" has different meanings, even in the computing
world. Based on context it may mean either a Windows based machine, a
"standard" x86 machine running Windows or Linux, or any personal computer
including the Mac. With the intro of x86 Macs and especially Boot Camp the
lines have blurred a bit, but if someone uses the term in a way that is not
clear it is easy enough to have it cleared up. Instead there are those who
want to just pick semantic battles and play BS games.
Macs are now PCs.
And they always were PCs.
When did the rules change?
When they were PPC, OS X only machines, they were not.
Yes they were considered PCs.
Now they are WinTel PCs that happen to also run a proprietary, Apple only OS.
Oh? Can your thinkpad T30 run OS X then?
But then, so does my Thinkpad T30. Does that make it a Mac?
No, it makes it an IBM product.
Your logic is quite faulty.
All you it really sounds like is "Tomahtoes are a $1 while Tomaytoes are $.95".
