Doubt it. Lightroom has better RAW processing, which shouldn't surprise
anyone, since Adobe has had many more years to work on it. Aperture,
however, is superior in pretty much every other respect -- from its
architecture (which makes extensive use of the GPU -- something Adobe is
missing the boat on) to its interface.
Unfortunately, that also means that Lightroom runs on a LOT more Mac
hardware than Aperture does. That in itself is also a kick in the
pants for Aperture, as Lightroom can capture a MUCH larger audience.
For now, this is true, yes. But Apple has always been pretty aggressive
about targeting its software at current and future hardware, and it's an
approach that works in the long-run, I think. It's one of the reasons
that Apple can stay out ahead of competitors despite often favoring
smaller development teams.
