Its real simple. Intel Macs can run Windows natively so Apple figured
why not? Lets make it an OSX feature. They don't have to worry about
Windows "taking over" the Mac because Mac users KNOW Windows is
inferior
to OSX and also Apple knows that NOBODY is going to buy a Mac just to
run Windows. What it does, is it makes the Mac the only platform on
earth that can run OSX, Windows and X11 applications natively. The
next
step (for someone, probably Microsoft) is to allow them all to run
simultaneously. Then we'll have the best of all worlds. Mac OSX
superiority, the huge Windows software availability (and its not that
Mac user WANT to run Windows software, but lots of modern hardware
needs
software (like my G-Tech Pro automotive performance meter or some
digital Camera software - such as Cannon's package to stitch pictures
from its digital cameras together to make panoramas, etc.) as well as
the ability to run X11 apps such as ASIC/SoC CAD packages all on the
same machine smultaneously. Talk about an ideal world. When the
Mac/Intel version of VPC ships, I will certainly be ready to buy an
Intel Mac.

The idea that Apple is thinking about dropping OSX in favor of Windows
is nonsense and only an only an idiot like Lil' Stewie would believe
otherwise.

This link was shown earlier:

I don't see OSX listed.

You mean other than the huge orange text reading, "Download Parallels
Workstation 2.1 Beta for Mac OS X on Intel !"?

You're right, I missed it. Went right to the text with my eyes and read
the whole thing. Didn't even see the banner at the top?

Next question. How long before Apple issues a cease and desist?

next question. How well does it work, I wonder. After all it's just a
software package.

If it works as advertised I'll buy a dual-core Dell notebook tomorrow!

You need to stop and read it again.

O/S X is not listed as a guest operating system.

Yes. I see now. The OSX version doesn't install on a Windows box it
installs on an Intel Mac and lets XP (or whatever) run as a guest on
OSX. I.E. its like VPC only more flexible - and native. This allows
Windows to run under OSX simultaneously with OSX. Just like VPC only
(hopefully) faster. Good show.

Definitely some cool *** happening in Apple world, huh?
