It will never be. The maccies will be running VISTA on their Dells.Pft. At this rate, "OS XI" (or whatever it'll be called) will be out before Vista.
Do you recall when the next M$ OS was called Longhorn? It was on their site! I wonder if they've hired one of those Damage Control outfits and their being told:
"Give it another name! - - Research already shows the public associates the name "V|sta" with 'bad *** is gonna happen'.
Some applications in the hands of the trademark sharks:
The amusing part of all this is, Windows users don't give a hoot about VISTA being late.
I can, do and will speak for myself.
Did you miss or ignore that I have used Windows for 20+ years and still do?
Only you maccies seem to have a strange issue.
My name is Michael. My issue isn't strange. I have valid complaints. I'll be surprised if M$ not only agrees with me but V|sta is an attempt to remedy 'issues' which are more widespread than 'Michael' issues.
XP is five years old and a new, improved OS is in the wings.
It does me no good so long as it is 'in the wings'.
OS X is five years old - nothing new in sight.
For me? An ol' G4 with Tiger sent a year-old & XP/W2K w/a P-4 of to the left. It 'earned' the role of #2. It won't get a dime in upgrades & I am still bound to the 'risks' it can introduce so I must deploy any security defenses, maintain/update/scan & remove pests and still find myself the target of a guest which was ahead of any protection.
I'll repeat:
I own machines. They don't own me.
I'm not being paid by anyone & M$ should hope that a new customer (today) is still around in 20 years a I've been.
M$ needs more than 'you' telling me what I do or don't deserve. I don't function on faith or persuasion.
Either (whatever it is in the wings) is better & I should be using it and not hearing any yap..Or, it's a sham & I can't miss that which won't be better.
What is it?
The future from M$ is not progress (I'm waiting for little).
Or
If/when 'it' works I'll be better off. (better off than XP/W2K...So, my issues are not "strange" after all?)
If deadlines, announcements and postponements are part of a brilliant "plan"? OK!
I'm 51 but I should live to see the result..(Fear not, I will recognize what is or is not worth the wait)
Till then, don't call me names, don't tell me why I should or should not be happy (I pay M$, not them me) & if no one here is complaining about this OS I doubt if your precious breathing hours can't be better spent elsewhere.
That is, unless you time here is worthwhile in a 'go to the bank' sort of fashion?
Michael
