Hello,
My sister just bought a mini-mac (intell duo) and I am trying to help
her getting it setup for email/browers etc. I don't know anything about
macs and neither does she. The problem is installing new software. The
machine arrived thursday night and I went ahead and installed
thunderbird email client, since I know it's netscape/pc version well.
We left the machine and did not touch it again till last night (Sat.).
I noticed that thunderbird had disappeared. I went ahead and installed
it again and downloaded firefox as well. I configured her email and it
worked like it should. Firefox appears to work normally as well. But
one strange thing (as compared to windows or linux) is launching ethier
one requires a 2 step process. You click on the icon, wait a few
seconds, the another small window showing firefox or thunderbird
appears. You then right click on that window/box and say open and about
15 seconds later the brower/email client appears. Is there a way to run
software with less hassle? I.e. just click the icon one time and the
software loads like in windows or linux?

Thanks, Fletch

You haven't installed the software - and if you had read the Readme
you'ld know that.

You have only downloaded the ".dmg" Disk Images. If you double-click
them, you just mount the image. Instead of starting the app from there
drag the icon to the Applications folder, then start from there.
