In response to me saying:

"While I have never had a virus on my macintosh, that does not mean that they do not exist, and it certainly doesn't mean the operating system is impervious to being compromised. I'm not sure exactly why you would claim this is incorrect."

I really have no interest in wasting more time beating a dead horse here. My only point is that the Mac operating system, like any useful piece of software, is not perfect and it's not invulnerable. If you appreciate that, you are even less likely to contract malware on your system in any form.
